A Candle in the Rain

If the storm began when water began
and candles burn that same old flame
a candle in the rain must feed and die at once

Great Eye of the storm let him be
Set Sail to the shores of silence

Steer on brave boatman
Oars of a drunken boat
Searcher of the stars in a sea of darkness

Look! Calmer seas surely await
As storms abate

Candles and rain don't mix - or so say the laws of physics. Some of us don't give up so easily, and venture out to burn our passions and (moral) outrage in the midst of the worst thunderstorms. Having done that for so long, entering calm seas could come as almost an anti-climax...what would Sinbad have made of calm seas with no surprises or challenges?

The "candle in the rain" was meant to be a metaphor really. The struggle against all odds or something like that. Agree about the physics aspect. They don't mix. Must admit that the candle in the rain was a response to an alien idea.
